Review: Quacky (Oh, I'm honored really to write my first one!)
Movie is About: By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip. (from IMDB.com)
Quacky Says: Oh, Quacky loved this movie. I have seen it twice already and both times had me slapping my feathers in laughter and wiping a stray tear or two from my beak.
The beginning was a lot of fun as we all got to see Carl when he was little and a happy boy, hoping to explore the world. He even finds his wife around this age...though of course they won't be getting married for awhile. The two of them grow up and then it's heartbreakingly sad when his wife dies and they never made it to Paradise Falls, the place they'd always wanted to visit.
I enjoyed this part as well as my mom and other other ducklings, but my younger brothers and sisters were a little antsy for the balloons and the bigger story to start.
And it indeed it did start! Russell, he was such a cutie...I just wanted to pick him up and take him home with me. Though his non-duck status might be a bit odd where I live. Ah well, he was adorable just the same.
I may be a duck but my favorite character was definitely the dog, Doug...even if he was working for some evil people. I especially related to the dog's fear of squirrels! He had a good heart and though I would have loved to take him home with me too, my mom always warned about flying feathers and dogs, so I think I'll just admire him from afar.
This movie gets 4 Quacks!!
